Person-centred. Relational. Systems-aware. Ethically grounded.

Ebony Sharp — clinical social worker and supervisor

Hello, I'm Ebony

Clinical social worker, supervisor and senior leader with more than 20 years' experience across social work, mental health, education, youth justice, community services and multidisciplinary practice.

My career has spanned direct practice, clinical and professional supervision, leadership, workforce development, education, policy and service design. That breadth shapes how I work: reflective and relational, while always attending to the wider organisational and systemic context.

Across all areas of practice, I bring a steady, relational, and systems-aware approach to working within complexity.

I bring particular experience in:

  • clinical and professional supervision
  • leadership and workforce capability
  • reflective practice and practitioner wellbeing
  • trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice
  • counselling, psychotherapy, advocacy, crisis care
  • organisational systems, policy and practice development
  • psychologically safe and sustainable workplaces

My work is grounded in ethics, curiosity, critical reflection and respect for the complexity of practice. I aim to create a space that is both supportive and robust — one that helps practitioners and leaders think deeply, stay connected to purpose, and navigate their work with greater clarity, confidence and sustainability.

Alongside individual and organisational work, I develop practical resources and learning tools that extend opportunities for reflection, professional growth and meaningful change beyond our sessions together.

A steady place within complexity.

Life and work can ask us to hold a great deal at once — responsibility, uncertainty, relationships, emotion, ethical tension, organisational demands and the cumulative impact of our experiences.

Sometimes we need space to understand ourselves more deeply, make sense of difficult experiences, navigate relationships or explore new possibilities. At other times, we need room to reflect on professional practice, leadership, complex decisions and the systems in which we work.

Through integrative counselling and psychotherapy, supervision, leadership coaching and consultation, A Holding Space offers different ways of working with this complexity — thoughtfully, collaboratively and with intention.

A place to:

  • pause, reflect, process and make meaning
  • explore experiences, relationships and patterns
  • deepen self-understanding and consider new possibilities
  • question, explore and strengthen ethical judgement and professional practice
  • reconnect with values, purpose and identity
  • understand the wider cultural, relational, organisational and systemic contexts that shape our experiences
  • nurture wellbeing and more sustainable ways of living and working

The work I do is reflective, relational and grounded in contemporary evidence, professional standards, ethics, cultural humility and diverse ways of knowing.

Whether our work together is personal, professional or organisational, my approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, trauma-informed and systems-aware.

The aim is to create space for deeper understanding, meaningful change and ways of living and working that are thoughtful, connected and sustainable.
