Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
A thoughtful space for curiosity, deeper understanding and new possibilities.
There are times in life when we need space to make sense of what we are experiencing. Sometimes there is a particular event, relationship or challenge that brings us to therapy. At other times, we might notice familiar patterns, a sense of disconnection, emotional exhaustion or a feeling that something needs to change, even if we are not quite sure what.
Integrative counselling and psychotherapy offers a space to explore these experiences with curiosity, care and depth.
At A Holding Space, I offer a collaborative and thoughtful therapeutic relationship, where we can work together to understand what matters to you, what may be contributing to your experiences and what you would like to be different.
What is integrative psychotherapy?
Integrative psychotherapy recognises that no single therapeutic approach is right for every person, experience or circumstance.
Rather than working from one prescribed model, I draw on different therapeutic perspectives, research and evidence-informed approaches to shape our work together.
This may include relational and attachment-based perspectives, cognitive and schema-informed approaches, trauma-informed practice, body-based awareness and exploration of the different parts of ourselves.
What might bring you to therapy?
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be navigating:
- Anxiety, worry or overwhelm
- Depression, low mood or a sense of emptiness
- Relationship difficulties or patterns that keep repeating
- Grief, loss or significant life transitions
- Trauma or difficult past experiences
- Identity, self-worth or a sense of disconnection from yourself
- Stress, burnout or difficulty managing competing demands
- A general sense that something needs to change, even if you are not sure what
You do not need to have a clear diagnosis or a specific problem to benefit from therapy.
Sometimes the most important work begins with simply making space to explore what is happening for you.
My approach
Relational, integrative and trauma-informed
I bring a warm, curious and thoughtful presence to my therapeutic work.
I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is central to meaningful change — that feeling genuinely heard, understood and respected creates the conditions in which deeper exploration becomes possible.
I work in a way that is integrative, drawing on a range of approaches to respond to your particular experiences, needs and goals.
My practice is grounded in contemporary evidence, professional ethics and an ongoing commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive and affirming care.
I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship in which you feel respected, engaged and able to bring the different parts of yourself, without having to fit a particular expectation of what therapy should look like.
Therapy is not simply about identifying what is wrong or finding ways to cope. It can also be about recognising your strengths, understanding the ways you have adapted to your experiences, developing greater choice and reconnecting with what is meaningful to you.
A steady place within complexity.
If this approach resonates with you, reach out and we can make a time to connect and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
